***There were issues with the footage and editing for the video today, so there will be no upload for Day 3 to YouTube***
Well, today did not go as well as we had hoped. We woke up this morning expecting big things, only to come out in the bottom five teams at the end of the day.
When we arrived to Competition this morning, things were going smoothly. We were not able to practice before Qualifying Rounds started, but we were able to pass inspection FINALLY. We even won our first Qual.
The problems began during our second round. It seemed to be one thing after another. One round, our battery mount busted into a hundred little pieces, the next we were having to take apart our entire climbing mechanism to repair damage to it.
At the end of the day, what matters is that we did have fun today, as we do at competition every year. But Magnatech, let me tell you this. It sure is frustrating to know the potential your robot has, only to see every possible obstacle hold you back from reaching that potential.
The one thing we were not able to repair today at competition was the velcro on our climbing mechanism. It has been stripped down to almost nothing; it won’t even stick to the opposite side of the velcro anymore. We are hoping to get some stronger velcro for tomorrow’s final Quals.
Everyone is confident that tomorrow will be a better day. We have had every possible bad thing happen to our robot. There is not much more that can be thrown our way. Tomorrow, we will work our way back up the ranks and show everyone that we are a team to be taken seriously.
That is all for now, Magnatech. Good night all!
